You may search for permits in the following three ways.
On the "Find a Permit" page, select the "Lookup By" "Permit Number" radio button.
Enter your permit number. Note, when you enter your permit number you must enter the
first two digits as they are. You can then just enter the number at the end of the permit
number and skip entering the zeros in between. So, 0900000123 can be entered as 09123. The
application will automatically provide the missing zeros.
Once you have entered your permit number, click the "Search" button.
On the "Find a Permit" page, select the "Lookup By" "Address" radio button. Then complete any
fields for which you have accurate information. Then click the "Search" button.
Note: If your search criteria are too vague, your search will return too many permits. You will
only see the first fifty returned. They will be sorted in street number, street name order. If
you don’t see the desired permit, enter more specific criteria.
If you do not receive any search results, then it is possible that one of your search criteria is
incorrect. It could also be that there are no permits in the system for the address you specified.
On the "Find a Permit" page, select the "Lookup By" "Contractor ID" radio button.
Enter your Contractor ID. Click the "Search" button to start your search. You will see the last 50
permits from that contractor sorted in reverse permit number order.
Once you have clicked the "Search" button, you should see a page similar to the following:
Click the "View Permit Details" button to see details about the permit.
Click the "View Inspections" button to see inspections on the permit.
This is what the permit details page looks like. We will attempt to locate the address on Google
Maps and display a map. It is possible that some addresses are not available in Google Maps.
If you wish to see inspections for this permit, you can click the "View Inspections" button or you
may close the permit details page and click the "View Inspections" button on the previous page.
This page displays all inspections that have been scheduled or completed for your permit.
You may click the "Details" button to see more information for a particular inspection.
If the "Cancel" button is enabled for an inspection, you may cancel that inspection by clicking
that "Cancel" button.
If you wish to schedule an additional inspection, you may click the "Schedule New Inspection" button.

Inspections have to occur in a particular order. For example, if you need a footing and framing inspection,
you cannot schedule the framing inspection until the footing inspection has passed. So, if you don’t see the
desired inspection offered, it is possible there is a prerequisite inspection that has not yet passed.
For permits where multiple trades are involved, you will not be able to schedule final inspections via this
application. Final inspections require special paperwork showing that all contractors for the permit are ready
for the inspection. So, these must be scheduled by contacting the Building Inspections department.
It is also possible that you will need an inspection type that is not automatically offered by this web application.
In those situations, contact the Building Inspections department by phone. They can assist you in getting your
